Shelly, living as a woman for 38 years, has come out as a transgender man. It was time for us each to go our own way because our past diverged. And we decided it no longer made sense for our business entities to live under the same umbrella. On Tuesday, the competition crowned Asher HaVon, a year-old singer from Selma, Alabama, the winner of its 25th season.

I got good at it. I learned how to pick clothes that were comfortable on my body. Is this real? And so here we are. Then I understood what euphoria means which, by the way, was utterly terrifying. The way you get good at something that you have to do, you know my let it be easy.

But I can tell you how it started or not even how it started -How a seed was planted that brought it into my consciousness. HaVon is the first out LGBTQ+ champion of the series over the course of 25 seasons. We will continue to deliver the same nuanced coaching perspectives and insights on the ADHD lived experience as we always have.

At the finale, HaVon paid tribute to two iconic divas with renditions of Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” and Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” before taking home the title — all while rocking fabulously.
